Jesus at Walgreen’s

Jesus at Walgreen’s

I saw Jesus at Walgreen’s yesterday
Or so it seemed when I walked his way
To drop off my photos for an hour stay
With a man dressed for a holiday

He had thorns on his head and a sullen face
Standing by an angel in the photo place
My heart skipped a beat when he came my way
To help with my order on this holiday

Was it a trick or only a treat?
Was it more? I cannot say
Taking orders at the meet and greet
Was Jesus at Walgreen’s yesterday

His robe was white and pure as wool
Like the robes of saints who overcame
His face was sad but posted on the wall
A picture said Jason was his name

Why did he dress as the King of Kings?
Was it to mock or proclaim?
Questions my heart sought for me to bring
To Jesus at Walgreen’s yesterday

What does it mean to be like Christ?
To dress like Him every day?
When we talk, when we live our lives
And show His face as we go our way

I saw Jesus at Walgreen’s yesterday
Or so it seemed when I walked his way
